Expansion of Tanzania’s Dodoma Airport nears Completion

The current ongoing expansion of Tanzania’s Dodoma Airport is now 80% complete and expected to be complete in a month’s time.
According to Minister for Works, Transport and Communication Professor Makame Mbarawa the contractor has since carried a good work and he expects him to deliver by the end of August.
Mbarawa said that they are looking into ensuring that the normal operation at the airport kicks off as it has been bringing inconvenience to the business operation in the country.

Siemens completes construction of 3 power plants in Egypt

Siemens, a German based power company has completed the construction of three power plants in Egypt. The plants are set to be operational by December this year. The plants are also expected to attain full generation capacity of 14,400MW of power by May 2018.

According to the Egyptian Prime Minister’s Office, in June 2015, Egypt signed an US$8.9bn power deal with Siemens for the construction of 3 combined-cycle power plants with each plant able to generate 4,800MW of power. The agreement also included the construction of 12 wind farms intended to boost the nation’s generation capacity by 50%.

Sugar processing factory in Rwanda to be constructed

A sugar processing factory in Rwanda is set to be constructed by Mauritius Investors; this is after the Government gave the financiers the go ahead to set it up.

The new processing factory in Rwanda will have the ability of producing 100, 000 tonnes of sugar annually and this will help the country realize the efforts for the economy to be self-sufficient in terms of sugar production by the year 2020.

US firm Marriott International opens new hotel in Rwanda

Marriott International, Inc. which is an American multinational company has opened a new hotel in Rwanda-this is their first property in the East African country.

The new hotel in Rwanda dubbed Kigali Marriott Hotel is the newest property under their signature name and it is located in the CBD of Kigali. Its design is a unique one as it is stirred by the lush hillsides, flowering trees, winding boulevards and busy streets of one of the cleanest and friendliest cities in Africa.
